How it works

How to convert SRT to text

  1. 01

    Choose your SRT file

Drop the .srt file in the box. A VTT file works here too.

  2. 02

    Pick a text style

Text gives one line per subtitle. Text with timestamps puts the start time before each line. Paragraph joins everything into one block.

  3. 03

    Copy or download

Sign in for free to see the text. Copy it into your document, or download it as a TXT file.

What gets removed

Cue numbers, timing lines and formatting tags are taken out. When a subtitle runs over two lines, the lines are joined with a space, so each subtitle reads as one line.

When plain text helps

Use it when you want the words without the timing, for example to write show notes or a blog post from a video you already subtitled.
